AAA Presents: Chris' favorite records from 2018

December 27, 2018

It is once again that time of the year when everybody and their brother, sister, uncle, cousin or neighbor dishes out their opinions on the best records of 2018. In the past I have always used the month of December to roll out my 31Days of Music. A list of 31 of my favorite records. (Notice I said favorite not best.) It was a list of albums that I enjoyed listening to the most throughout the year, presenting one album per day throughout the month of December. The only criteria for making this list was; one, the album must be released during the year the list is being assembled and, B, it has to be an album I really dig listening to.

With the Atlanta Auditory Association’s dismantling in the summer of 2018, AAA’s 31 Days of Music is no more. After spending close to six-months away from talking about music I needed to find an outlet to release this pent up musical rhetoric taking up space in my brain. So, I said to myself, “self, let’s put together a list of our favorite records of 2018 and unleash some of this cranial pressure.” So, here it is.

This year has been a damn fine year for music. From January to December we have experienced a collection of records up and down the musical spectrum that demonstrate how good music can be. After listening to a boat load of new music it was hard to narrow down so I assembled a list containing 100 favorite records of 2018. That is right folks, not 25, not 50, but 100 records you will probably want to listen to. If you already haven’t.

You are probably saying to yourself, “How can this jabroni like so much music, this is ridiculous.” Yes 100 records is a lot but when you like music and there is an abundance out there to find and listen to this is not so crazy.

I know, I know, who cares what some guy in GA thinks about music and why should I take the time to read what he thinks? Some of these you may know quite well some you may have never heard of, just trust me and check these records out, you will dig them.
